4 fighters come in heavy at UFC Sydney weigh-ins
UFC Fight Night 121's weigh-ins didn't go down without a few snafus.
A whopping four fighters missed weight Friday for their bouts on Saturday's card in Sydney, with newcomer Nadia Kassem coming in four pounds above the strawweight limit for her bout with Alex Chambers, and Frank Camacho missing the lightweight limit for his date with Damien Brown just as egregiously.
Also tipping the scales unsuccessfully were flyweights Ryan Benoit and the debuting Jessica-Rose Clark, who'll meet Ashkan Mokhtarian and Bec Rawlings, respectively.
According to MMAjunkie's John Morgan, those who came in heavy were allowed an extra two hours to make weight, although he's since reported neither of the four miscreants will tip the scales again, meaning their fights will presumably be contested at a catchweight.
Prospect Alexander Volkanovski was expected to compete at his usual featherweight on the card, but his dance with Shane Young was changed to a catchweight of 150 pounds since the latter stepped in for Humberto Bandenay on under one week's notice.
