Belfort says he's agreed to Bisping rematch at UFC London

Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping might be running it back after all.

What would have been his swan song opposite Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night 124 fell through Saturday when Hall was hospitalized. On Tuesday, Belfort published an Instagram post claiming he'd agreed to meet Bisping for a second time at UFC Fight Night 127 in London on March 17.

"Bisping, stop finding excuses. (UFC) had offered us Belfort vs. Bisping 2 and I said yes. I will fight you in your country. How about that? Let's make an amazing show for all the fans around the the world and retire in great fashion," Belfort wrote.

"Thanks (UFC), (Dana White) for finding a way to help me with all the camp expenses and offering me this great fight. I promise you and all my fans; on March 17th in London you all will see the Phenom in the Octagon. I'm leaving it all in there!"

The 40-year-old made weight for the ill-fated fight and subsequently asked to be compensated for his trouble. UFC president Dana White later said Belfort turned down a pair of short-notice fights on both last Sunday's bill and UFC 220. Recent reports of a Bisping rematch on the March card were shut down by the Brit himself, although White told the media Sunday he was open to booking the matchup. Judging by Belfort's post, he and the UFC boss appear to have met each other halfway.

Should the matchup be booked, fans at London's O2 Arena will see a pair of longtime vets compete in their last hurrahs. Bisping aims to hang up his gloves in London after losing his middleweight title and getting the wrong end of two brutal stoppages just three weeks apart in November.

The 38-year-old suffered a second-round knockout at Belfort's hands five years ago. The coup de grace detached his retina and nearly ended his career. At the time, Belfort was taking testosterone replacement therapy - a polarizing practice that's since been banned.
