Brunson vs. Heinisch confirmed for UFC 241

A pivotal middleweight matchup between Derek Brunson and Ian Heinisch is now official for UFC 241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim, Calif., according to the UFC.

Brunson (19-7) snapped a two-fight losing streak by defeating Canadian Elias Theodorou at UFC Ottawa in May. The 35-year-old Brunson has won three of his last five fights.

Heinisch (13-1) has won back-to-back bouts in the Octagon since signing with the UFC last year. The Factory X standout is heading into this matchup on a five-fight winning streak, including three by stoppage.

In addition, the promotion announced former LFA flyweight champion Sabina Mazo will face Shana Dobson. Here's an updated look at the UFC 241 card:

Lamas broke jaw in three places during UFC 238 defeat

Ricardo Lamas posted on Instagram that he underwent surgery after fracturing his jaw in three places during his first-round TKO loss to Calvin Kattar at UFC 238.

"Titanium plates were installed," Lamas wrote. "I asked the doctor to install laser guns in my mouth that I could activate with my tongue and shoot through my teeth but he said that was impossible."

He added: "For my beloved city of Chicago, I’m sorry I let you down again, but I wanted to thank you all for the cheers you gave me during my introduction, it gave me chills and I will never forget it, Chicago truly has the best fans. For now, it’s quality time with my family and baby No. 3 coming early August, which puts in perspective what’s really important in life."

Lamas (19-8) has now lost three of his last four fights, with two of those setbacks being first-round stoppages.

Mackenzie Dern welcomes baby girl

Undefeated UFC women's flyweight Mackenzie Dern announced the birth of her daughter, Moa, with an Instagram post.

Dern (7-0) last defeated Amanda Cooper via first-round submission at UFC 224 in May 2018. The 26-year-old has submitted four of her six career opponents.

"TUF 28" winner Chiasson unharmed after scary crane collapse

UFC bantamweight Macy Chiasson was unharmed when a construction crane collapsed and cut a huge gash through her Dallas apartment building, according to MMAJunkie's Steven Marrocco.

The 27-year-old had just arrived home when she heard a loud boom, which was the sound of a construction crane giving out during a thunderstorm. One person was killed and five were injured, according to the report.

The Fortis MMA product last defeated Canadian Sarah Moras at UFC Ottawa by second-round TKO, which pushed her UFC record to 3-0.
