Former UFC women's featherweight champion Cris Cyborg rebounded from the first knockout loss of her career by defeating Felicia Spencer via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 240 in Edmonton, Alberta.

It was a far tougher fight for Cyborg than most predicted following her loss to double champ Amanda Nunes, with Spencer absorbing an astonishing amount of direct shots but refusing to go down.

The previously undefeated Canadian cut Cyborg early with an elbow to the forehead in the first round and looked to wear down her opponent in order to take the fight to the mat.

Even with the win, Cyborg's future with the UFC is uncertain. Her appearance at UFC 240 was the final fight of her contract, leaving a potential rematch with Nunes in doubt.

Cyborg said she wanted to run it back after Saturday's fight, and Nunes echoed her on Twitter:
