Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold may be calling it a career.

"I have no interest in fighting right now," Rockhold said, according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

The 35-year-old added that it is "very" possible he might never fight again, but he doesn't want to formally announce his retirement to keep the door open.

Rockhold moved up to light heavyweight for his last fight on July 6 against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 239, in which he was knocked out in the second round and suffered a broken jaw. The injury required surgery and the insertion of a titanium plate.

The former champ captured the middleweight belt in 2015 by defeating Chris Weidman at UFC 194. He was subsequently defeated by Michael Bisping and has dropped two of his last three fights since relinquishing the title.

As it stands, the California native would finish his professional MMA career with a 16-5 record.
