Tate: Paige VanZant would be 'wonderful fit' in ONE
ONE Championship vice president Miesha Tate would like to see potential free agent Paige VanZant join the promotion.
"Paige is just wonderful ... She’s absolutely stunning and she can fight," Tate told theScore. "She's a killer. Of course, I think she’d be a wonderful fit here if that’s what she chooses to look into. I’m sure there would be some interest on our end as well, as long as she’s completely free from her contract, of course."
VanZant (8-4) is currently sidelined with an injury but has expressed interest in testing free agency rather than renegotiating the last fight on her UFC contract. Tate, a former UFC bantamweight champion, has interacted with VanZant on several occasions and has nothing but glowing reviews for "12 Gauge."
"We’ve done some group projects together before. We’ve been sitting in the makeup room just chatting, getting our makeup done," said Tate. "We’ve kept in contact via social media. Every interaction I’ve ever had had or ever even heard of Paige having, she’s just been really a genuine, sweet person."
