Rogan thinks Reyes 'would be even better' in rematch with Jones

UFC commentator Joe Rogan wants to see Jon Jones defend his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes for a second time and thinks Reyes would find even more success than he did in the first encounter.

"I'm excited to see that rematch," Rogan said Saturday on "The Joe Rogan Experience." "I think Dominick Reyes would be even better in the rematch. I think Dominick Reyes realizes now it's all about having the energy in the third, fourth, and fifth round. Having already been to the top of the mountain and faced the dragon, I think he's gonna come back better than ever."

Jones defeated Reyes by unanimous decision at UFC 247 in Houston earlier in February, but it was one of the closest fights of his career. Many people, including UFC president Dana White, thought Reyes won the first three rounds.

After the bout, Jones and Reyes both said they were open to a rematch. One week later, however, top contender Jan Blachowicz knocked out Corey Anderson and then called out Jones, who was sitting cageside.

The UFC has not yet announced Jones' next fight.

Jones is one of the most dominant fighters in MMA history and is the current UFC pound-for-pound king. He's defended the 205-pound title 11 times throughout his two title reigns, and his only official pro loss was a 2009 disqualification due to an illegal elbow.

Reyes fell short for the first time as a pro against Jones. He joined the UFC in 2017 and won six straight fights before challenging for the belt.
