Deiveson Figueiredo missed weight prior to his vacant title fight at UFC Norfolk because of a medical issue, according to his manager Wallid Ismail.

"He described to his doctor what he was feeling and his doctor told him to be careful and not cut any more weight. He felt a bad cramp and was nauseous," Ismail told BJPenn.com's Cole Shelton.

The Brazilian flyweight weighed in Friday morning at 127.5 pounds, 2.5 pounds over the division's limit for title bouts. He'll still fight Joseph Benavidez on Saturday, but Figueiredo is no longer eligible to win the belt.

Ismail said the 32-year-old apologizes for missing weight and is still committed to putting on a show for the fans.

"He promised the fans a big fight and this is what he is going to do tomorrow," Ismail said. "There will be blood and it still will be a war."

If Figueiredo beats Benavidez, the flyweight title will remain vacant.
