Khamzat Chimaev is the real deal.

In the biggest win of his career, the rising prospect knocked out Gerald Meerschaert in 17 seconds at UFC Fight Night on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Chimaev put pressure on Meerschaert immediately and walked him down. "The Wolf" landed a ferocious right hand that put his opponent out cold.

The only other strike Chimaev landed was a body kick moments before the finish. Meerschaert did not appear to score a single strike.

With the victory, Chimaev is 3-0 in the Octagon and appears to be a future contender. The 26-year-old made his debut in July and immediately made waves. He took out two opponents in dominant fashion in the span of 10 days, breaking the record for quickest turnaround in company history.

Chimaev became the quickest fighter to amass a 3-0 record in UFC modern era history at 66 days, according to ESPN MMA. The Sweden resident is also the fastest to three wins at any point in a UFC career.

Ahead of this fight, UFC president Dana White said Chimaev will likely face Demian Maia later this year with a victory Saturday.

Meerschaert, a 45-fight veteran, has now lost two straight bouts.
