A heavyweight title rematch between champion Stipe Miocic and knockout artist Francis Ngannou will headline UFC 260 on March 27, UFC president Dana White confirmed Saturday.

A featherweight championship bout between titleholder Alexander Volkanovski and No. 2-ranked Brian Ortega is intended to serve as the co-main event, according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani.

Miocic regained the heavyweight belt with a victory over Daniel Cormier at UFC 241 in 2019 and defended the title in a rematch a year later at UFC 252.

Ngannou has positioned himself as the next man in line with four consecutive first-round knockout victories over Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

The two heavyweights met before at UFC 220 in 2018, and Miocic emerged with a unanimous-decision victory.

Volkanovski owns a 22-1 professional record and two wins over former champion Max Holloway in title fights. Ortega also has just one loss on his record, and it came at the hands of Holloway in 2018. He has 15 victories, including a unanimous-decision win over Chan Sung Jung in October.

The event will follow UFC 259 on March 6, which is set to include a light heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Israel Adesanya, a women's featherweight championship fight between Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson, and a bantamweight title bout between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling.
