The Harlem Globetrotters and Washington Generals are set to do battle once again.

After being dropped as Harlem's primary opponent back in 2015, the Generals have now been purchased by Herschend Enterprises, whose portfolio includes owning the Globetrotters, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

The Generals will reportedly begin playing their historic rivals as early as this summer, with the team expected to receive a marketing boost in the form of merchandise, a new Twitter account, and an official website.

Red Klotz, who was both a player and coach for the Generals over the course of 63 years, passed away in 2014, with his family being told in 2015 that they would no longer play the Globetrotters.

They were eventually replaced with a team called the World All-Stars.

Washington has just one recorded victory over the Globetrotters in its existence, winning 100-99 back in 1971 when Klotz drilled a 3-pointer at the end of regulation.
