Wall: 'I think I'm the best shot-blocking point guard in NBA history'
With the Detroit Pistons trailing the Washington Wizards 113-111 with less than 20 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter Friday, Pistons guard Reggie Jackson zoomed past Mike Scott to attack the basket, only to be met with a block courtesy of All-Star John Wall, sealing the win for Washington.
Riding the emotional high of his game-saving rejection, Wall proclaimed that he's the king of blocks at the point guard position.
"I think I'm the best shot-blocking point guard in NBA history," said Wall, according to NBCS Washington's Chase Hughes.
Wall ended Friday with two blocks, along with a double-double of 26 points and 10 assists in 33 minutes of action.
Among active guards, he ranks second overall in total blocks with 326, which is well behind Dwyane Wade's 802. Dating back to the 1946-47 campaign, Wall sits 10th overall in blocks, but moves up when you remove shooting guards from the equation like Wade, Clyde Drexler, Kendall Gill, and Jason Richardson.
