Jones, the No. 18 pick in 2012, spent his first four seasons with the Houston Rockets, showing immense potential as an effective new-age small-ball power forward, but struggling to overcome a litany of injuries, including nerve injury to his left leg, a concussion, a lacerated eyelid, and a collapsed lung. During his Houston tenure, he averaged 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 31.4 percent on 3-pointers.
After leaving the Rockets in the summer of 2016, Jones was signed, but eventually waived by both the Pelicans and Bucks. After seeking to re-establish himself in the Chinese Basketball Association this year, Jones was reportedly kicked off the Qingdao Eagles.
