The Dallas Mavericks rescinded their qualifying offer to guard Yogi Ferrell, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent, sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

However, Dallas still intends to re-sign the 25-year-old, reports ESPN's Tim MacMahon, citing sources.

Ferrell emerged as a rotation player on the rebuilding Mavericks midway through the 2016-17 season, and was named to the All-Rookie second team that year.

In 118 games with Dallas, Ferrell has averaged 10.6 points, three assists, and 2.9 rebounds in just under 28 minutes per game. He's also shot 38.2 percent on 3-pointers.
