Help appears to be on the way for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Superstar point guard Russell Westbrook has been cleared to participate in full-contact drills and practice, suggesting his return to game action is imminent, according to ESPN's Royce Young.

The 29-year-old underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in September, causing him to miss the preseason and the start of the regular season.

Westbrook was ruled out for the Thunder's season opener versus the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday as well as the team's game against the Los Angeles Clippers Friday. Oklahoma City's next test comes at home against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, a lightweight opponent that would provide the 2016-17 MVP an opportunity to ease back into action.
