Report: Draymond dared Durant to leave Warriors in rant
Draymond Green was ready to move past his spat with Kevin Durant on Thursday, but new details were reported about what Green supposedly said to Durant after their blowup following Monday's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Yahoo's Chris Haynes, Green told Durant that the Golden State Warriors don't need the 2014 NBA MVP, that they won a title without him, and essentially dared him to leave.
Durant can opt out of the final year of his contract after the season and become an unrestricted free agent, a major question mark for the Warriors next summer.
The remarks got Green suspended for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. He returned to action in Thursday's blowout loss to the Houston Rockets, and accepted some responsibility.
"If those emotions are what caused us to lose, then it's my bad," he said, before adding the Warriors would go on to win another championship.
Head coach Steve Kerr called his team banged up spiritually Thursday, while Durant refused to answer any more questions about the fiasco.
