LaVar insists Lakers aren't silencing him: 'Can't nobody quiet me up'
LaVar Ball says he's been relatively quiet about the Los Angeles Lakers this season because he's been busy talking elsewhere in the world.
There was speculation the Lakers were behind Ball's recent radio silence, but he denied that was the case during an interview with ESPN's "Jalen & Jacoby Show" on Thursday.
"Can't nobody quiet me up," Ball said. "Don't be scared of me because you can't get around like I get around. You gotta have a blue book to follow me. I'm just not local.
"They thought I was going to stay in the United States. I've been in Russia, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, London. I'm all over the place being loud. I'm a globally loud person. If you can't follow me and hear what I'm saying, that's on you. ... How can I be quiet if I'm running the JBA League, I'm doing the European tour, I'm selling water? I'm doing everything."
LaVar publicly criticized the Lakers on multiple occasions during Lonzo Ball's rookie season, leading the team to enforce a so-called "LaVar Ball rule" prohibiting the media from an area designated for family and associates of players following games.
