Minnesota Timberwolves big man Taj Gibson has been issued a $25,000 fine after flashing an "obscene gesture" toward a referee, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gibson flashed the middle finger at an official on Friday after being ejected from a game against the Utah Jazz.

The 10-year vet received a technical foul after arguing a call. He was held back by teammates, but after charging at the referee once more, he was sent off.

Gibson is averaging 10.8 points and 6.9 rebounds for Minnesota, having started each of his 48 games this season.

The 33-year-old is expected to be in the lineup when the Timberwolves face the Jazz again on Sunday. Minnesota sits in 11th in the Western Conference with a 24-25 record.
