One week before the league's trade deadline, the New York Knicks shocked the Association by dealing injured phenom Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks, sending NBA Twitter into a frenzy.

News of the transaction caught nearly everyone by surprise, including Porzingis' now-former teammates.

Enes Kanter tweeted a unicorn emoji minutes before the trade, a reference to Porzingis' nickname, only to have his mind blown when the news broke.

Other players around the Association also chimed in with their reactions to news of the blockbuster deal.

Moments before Porzingis was traded, it was reported that he questioned the franchise's direction. He's clearly not alone in the aftermath of the swap.

But with this new beginning, many were delighted at the prospect of the Mavericks' new Euro connection between Porzingis, Dirk Nowitzki, and Rookie of the Year front-runner Luka Doncic.

In addition, reporters from inside and outside the NBA took the time to get some laughs in at the news of the transaction.

Although it's safe to say not all Knicks fans are happy with the deal, at least some are hopeful of the team's future.
