Shooting guard Nik Stauskas has signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team announced Monday. The deal is reportedly for the rest of the season, sources told Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor.

Stauskas appeared in 44 games for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2018-19, averaging 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 15.3 minutes per contest.

Then, a week ago, the No. 8 pick in 2014 became the league's hot potato.

On Feb. 4, the Trail Blazers traded Stauskas to the Cavs as part of a package for Rodney Hood. Cleveland then re-routed Stauskas to the Houston Rockets in a three-team deal that included the Sacramento Kings. Before the ink was dry on that second transaction, the 25-year-old was shipped to the Indiana Pacers and subsequently released, opening the door for a return to the Cavaliers.

Through five seasons, the Canadian is averaging 6.9 points per game while shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
