Isaiah Thomas made his season and team debut Wednesday when the Denver Nuggets hosted the Sacramento Kings.

The 30-year-old was brimming with optimism Wednesday morning, tweeting, "Woke up in this state of mind like sky’s the limit."

Thomas signed a one-year, $2-million contract with the Nuggets in July. He has been out of action since last March due to a lingering hip injury, the same affliction that ended his final season with the Boston Celtics and limited him to just 32 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers last season.

Boasting a 38-18 record heading into Wednesday - good for second in the packed Western Conference - the Nuggets will hope Thomas is able to approximate his former self. In his final two seasons with the Celtics from 2015-17, the diminutive offensive stalwart averaged 25.5 points and 6.1 assists, earning a pair of All-Star Game appearances in the process.
