Nike released a statement Wednesday night in the wake of Duke star Zion Williamson's right knee injury which followed his left shoe breaking on the court in the first half against North Carolina.

"We are obviously concerned and want to wish Zion a speedy recovery," Nike said in a statement obtained by Sporting News' Dan Bernstein. "The quality and performance of our products are of utmost importance. While this is an isolated occurrence, we are working to identify the issue."

The 18-year-old South Carolina native suffered a mild knee sprain, Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski said postgame.

Williamson is emerging as a generational talent in his freshman season and is the consensus No. 1 pick in June's NBA draft.
