Morant tight-lipped on future: Focus is not on NBA draft right now

Ja Morant will be among the most highly touted prospects when he officially declares for the NBA draft, but he's not thinking about that just yet.

Those expecting an official update on Morant's plans following Murray State's 90-62 loss to Florida State in the Round of 32 were left disappointed, as the Naismith Trophy finalist wasn't willing to discuss whether his sophomore season would indeed be his last.

"That time will come. My focus is not on that right now; it's just celebrating this - what a great season we had - with my teammates," Morant said about the draft after the game, according to ESPN.

Morant put on a show in his team's upset over Marquette in the first round, recording the first triple-double in the men's tournament since 2012. That's as far as he could carry the Ohio Valley Conference champs, though, as his 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists were not enough Saturday night.

If Morant does elect to enter the NBA draft pool, he will have until April 22 to rescind his declaration while still maintaining his final two years of NCAA eligibility should he instead decide to return to Murray State.
