Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson won't let any praise get to his head because he's always one poor outing away from criticism.

"At the end of the day, the love from the media and fans can be fickle, just because it's so game-to-game," Thompson said on Thursday, according to ESPN. "We live in a time where it's 'What have you done for me lately?' You can't get caught up in the love right now."

Following a 115-111 upset loss to the Phoenix Suns on March 10, the five-time All-Star called out Warriors fans for a lack of energy at Oracle Arena. Thompson clarified his remarks days later on Twitter, saying he meant no disrespect to the fan base.

Thompson's comments on Thursday came in response to a question about whether he recognizes that more people are noticing his defense, or if he's blocking that attention out.

The shooting guard also said he aspires to be a member of an NBA All-Defensive team.

"It's always been a goal of mine. I pride myself on playing on both sides of the ball," he added. "It would be awesome to make All-Defensive team before it's all said and done."

The 29-year-old is currently averaging a career-best 22.5 points, along with four rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 40.4 percent from behind the arc for the 48-22 Warriors.
