Green after worst loss in Kerr era: 'We just got punched'

The Golden State Warriors suffered their most lopsided loss during the Steve Kerr era on Saturday, falling 126-91 at home to the Dallas Mavericks.

The loss comes almost two weeks after dropping a game at Oracle to the lowly Phoenix Suns, prompting Klay Thompson to call out fans for a lack of energy.

This time, it was Golden State lacking life on the floor. Draymond Green was quick to take ownership, attributing the Warriors' poor showing to playing down to the level of their competition.

"We just got punched," Green said, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell. "You kind of sensed the energy wasn't there. That's kind of normal in a game like that. I didn't really sense we'd lose by 40."

"Sometimes you have games where playing against that team isn't going to get you up," Green added. "You got to find the energy somewhere else. We didn't."

While the club has performed poorly at times on its home court this season, the mood in the locker room remained upbeat postgame.

"It's not odd at all," said forward Kevin Durant. "I think everybody in that locker room has gotten their a--es beat at home before. I know this experience is different, how much winning we've done the last few years. But we're still in the NBA; guys have been a part of terrible games, along with the great games, as well."

The loss dropped Golden State to a half game back of the Denver Nuggets for the top spot in the Western Conference.
