Former All-Star point guard Jeff Teague exercised his $19-million player option to remain with the Minnesota Timberwolves through the end of the 2019-20 season, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Held to a career-low 42 appearances due to various ankle and foot injuries, the 30-year-old Teague still managed to average 12.2 points with a career-high 8.2 assists per game when active this season.

The Timberwolves finished their tumultuous campaign with a 36-46 record, a disappointment considering the team ended a 13-season playoff drought in 2018.
