Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will be re-evaluated next week after an MRI on Thursday revealed a right calf strain, the team announced.

Durant suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Warriors' 104-99 Game 5 win over the Houston Rockets.

The injury will keep Durant out of Game 6 on Friday, as well as a potential series-deciding Game 7. He could potentially return at the start of the Western Conference finals against either the Denver Nuggets or the Portland Trail Blazers if the Warriors beat Houston.

Golden State is already without starting center DeMarcus Cousins after the 28-year-old suffered a torn right quad in Game 2 of his team's first-round series against the LA Clippers. Cousins remains optimistic about returning if the Warriors are able to continue their pursuit of a third straight NBA championship.

Durant is in the midst of a career-best playoff run, averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists through 11 games.
