The Golden State Warriors waived guard Shaun Livingston, the team announced.

The 33-year-old is determined to continue playing, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Livingston is guaranteed $2 million of his total $7.7-million salary for the 2019-20 season.

Golden State will use the waive-and-stretch provision to spread the $2 million guarantee from Livingston's 2019-20 salary over three seasons, ESPN's Bobby Marks reports. In doing so, the club will remain slightly under the $138.9-million tax apron.

Livingston has spent the last five seasons with the Warriors, playing a key role in their three NBA title runs.

The former top-five draft pick averaged just 5.4 points on 52 percent shooting across 367 appearances for Golden State. However, his ability to guard multiple positions gave head coach Steve Kerr plenty of defensive flexibility.
