No, oddsmakers didn't swing and miss to produce some huge discrepancies between opening numbers and current; some shops released 2019-20 win totals prior to the offseason. As Caesars senior oddsmaker Alan Berg told theScore over the summer, odds become a "speculative market" when they open prior to free agency: It's essentially a guessing game regarding which teams will load up or clean house, and the adjusted numbers are already baked in.
The Thunder (Paul George traded to the Clippers; Russell Westbrook traded to the Rockets), Knicks (missing out on free agents), Clippers (signing Kawhi Leonard on top of landing George), Hornets (failing to re-sign Kemba Walker), Heat (acquiring Jimmy Butler), and Raptors (failing to re-sign Leonard) have seen some of the most notable changes since the opening totals.

Division prices have stayed put throughout the summer. There are six odds-on favorites here, but none pricier than the Bucks - you'll need $2,000 to win back $100 in an underwhelming Central. Milwaukee also boasts the highest win total on the board at 58, with room to spare over the Pacers (47.5, 7-1) in the division.
