Los Angeles Lakers fans can reportedly breathe a massive sigh of relief.

An MRI on Anthony Davis' right thumb came back clean on Monday, a source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The star forward sprained the digit in a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets, but he appears to have escaped a serious injury.

The 26-year-old Davis, who was acquired this past offseason from the New Orleans Pelicans, lived up to the hype in his preseason debut with the Lakers, recording 22 points and 10 rebounds in just one half against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 5.

The six-time All-Star followed up that performance with 16 points, five assists, two rebounds, two blocks, and a steal in the first of two games in China against the Nets, but he played just one quarter in the second contest before picking up the thumb injury.

Despite the good news, Davis and teammate LeBron James will both sit out Monday's exhibition contest against the Golden State Warriors, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
