Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns took to Instagram on Wednesday night to trade jabs following an on-court brawl that saw both players ejected from a game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Embiid threw the first blow on social media, blasting his counterpart with a reference to Jimmy Butler's infamous T-Wolves practice session.

Towns then took direct aim at the second of Embiid's two hashtags, posting in response an image gallery including a shot of the 76ers star making an emotional exit from Game 7 of last season's Eastern Conference Semifinals, in which the Toronto Raptors ousted Philly on Kawhi Leonard's historic buzzer-beater.

Embiid apparently responded directly on Towns' post, then tweeted out the evidence claiming Towns had either deleted or hidden the comment.

Basketball fans will have to wait patiently for the next matchup between the two big men, as the Sixers and T-Wolves don't face each other again until March 24.
