Portland Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins is expected to miss at least four months after he underwent surgery to repair his left labrum on Tuesday, the team announced.

Collins dislocated his shoulder in the third quarter of Portland's Oct. 27 matchup against the Dallas Mavericks as he attempted to secure a rebound over Luka Doncic.

The injury could deal a significant blow to Portland's frontcourt depth. The team is already without Jusuf Nurkic indefinitely due to the leg fracture he suffered late last season. And Pau Gasol, who signed with the Trail Blazers in the offseason, has yet to play for the team as he recovers from foot surgery.

Veteran Anthony Tolliver has started for Portland in Collins' absence.

Now in his third season, Collins is averaging nine points and four rebounds in three games of 2019-20.
