Curry expects to return from broken hand this season
Stephen Curry is planning a comeback.
The Golden State Warriors point guard hopes to return this season from a broken hand, and he's specifically aiming to play by the spring.
"I definitely expect to be ready to play, I don't know when, but at some point in early spring," Curry told reporters Monday.
"It's just a matter of the rehab process," he added.
Golden State announced that Curry will be re-evaluated three months after undergoing surgery on Nov. 1.
As part of his recovery, Curry will undergo a second procedure on his hand in early December to "remove some pins," according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Connor Letourneau.
Curry intends to start traveling with the team in the new year, Letourneau adds.
The two-time MVP suffered a broken left hand against the Phoenix Suns in late October.
Curry suffered the break when he landed awkwardly under Suns big man Aron Baynes.
"I've seen the play plenty of times. ... It hurt, and I knew when I couldn't really move my fingers that it was something serious," Curry said, according to Letourneau.
The injury-depleted Warriors enter Monday's game against the Utah Jazz with a 2-8 record, good for last in the Western Conference.
