Report: NBA to let players bring 'longstanding' friends into bubble

NBA players will soon be able to bring more than just family into the Orlando bubble.

The league sent a memo to teams Wednesday stating that players will be allowed to bring "established longstanding personal friends" to the campus at Walt Disney World, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

There will be restrictions on which individuals players can invite into the bubble.

Non-familial guests who won't be admitted include "any individual the player has not previously met in person or with whom the player has had limited in-person interactions. (For example) ... known by the player only through social media or an intermediary," the memo reportedly states.

Furthermore, any individual who has a business relationship with a player - including agents, trainers, massage and physical therapists, chefs, and tattoo artists - will reportedly not be allowed to enter.

The NBA will allow each player to have up to four guests inside the bubble following the first round of the playoffs, though that limit can be exceeded to accommodate children, sources told Wojnarowski.

Visitors will reportedly be allowed to attend games and travel on team charters after undergoing COVID-19 testing.

Prospective guests will have to quarantine for at least seven days in order to enter the bubble, though individuals can spend three of those days quarantining in a team's market before completing the remainder of their isolation in Orlando, Wojnarowski adds, citing the memo.
