Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis has drawn a very late whistle stemming from a play in Sunday's Game 2 versus the Houston Rockets.

The league on Tuesday assessed the seven-time All-Star a flagrant-1 foul due to contact he made to the groin of Rockets defender Jeff Green toward the end of the second quarter:

Rockets players were on the receiving end of several similar low blows during their first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Sunday's incident prompted team CEO Tad Brown to address the matter publicly.

"It would be greatly appreciated if opposing players would stop punching our players in the balls during the game," he tweeted. "Seems to be a thing lately, not sure why."

But the Rockets weren't entirely blameless this time around; star guard James Harden was also assessed a technical foul for contact with Davis on a drive to the hoop in the first quarter of Game 2:

Game 3 of the series is set for Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
