Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo and point guard Goran Dragic missed Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Heat are hopeful Adebayo will return to the lineup for Game 3, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. He's dealing with a neck injury suffered in Game 1, while Dragic is sidelined with a torn plantar fascia in his left foot.

"I had to play the role of not just head coach but a parent the past 24 hours," said Heat bench boss Erik Spoelstra before Game 2, according to ESPN's Rachel Nichols. "These guys are really amazing ... they were both lobbying to play and we ultimately had to take the decision out of their hands for tonight."

Adebayo is averaging 17.8 points, 10.9 boards, and 4.6 assists across 16 postseason appearances and Dragic is Miami's second-leading playoff scorer at 19.9 points per game.
