Los Angeles Lakers forward Markieff Morris and Houston Rockets center DeMarcus Cousins have been fined $35,000 and $10,000, respectively, as a result of their scuffle Sunday, the league announced.

Morris and Cousins were at the center of an altercation with 2:15 left in the first quarter. Cousins appeared to take exception to Morris pushing Rockets rookie Jae'Sean Tate to the ground and responded with a forearm shove, knocking the Lakers big man off-balance. An angry Morris then got up and shoved Cousins back, forcing teammates to quickly separate the two.

Both players received technical fouls for the incident. Morris - who had been issued a flagrant-1 foul for the shove on Tate - was ejected.

Cousins was later tossed early in the second quarter for a flagrant 2 on LeBron James.

Los Angeles defeated Houston 120-102.
