Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley will miss at least three-to-four weeks after undergoing surgery for a fractured bone in his left hand, the team announced Friday, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

The injury occurred during the fourth quarter of Thursday's 113-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Beverley's had trouble staying healthy throughout his four-year tenure with the Clippers, including missing 12 games earlier this season due to knee soreness.

"It is just tough," Clippers head coach Ty Lue told reporters Friday, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "Because Pat is such a hard worker and did all the right things to come back to play and get back to action.

"For this to happen in his second game back is tough to see. We are going to hold the fort down until he comes back ... he is a warrior and he will be back as soon as he can."

The 32-year-old is averaging eight points and 2.1 assists over 31 appearances this campaign.

Reggie Jackson is set to start in Beverley's place against the Houston Rockets, with veteran guard Rajon Rondo also sidelined for Friday's contest.

Second-year guard Terance Mann should also see more minutes during Beverley's absence.
