Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James missed Tuesday's 125-121 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs due to right ankle soreness.

James picked up the injury when he collided with Desmond Bane midway through the second quarter of Sunday's 121-118 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. The four-time league MVP stayed in the game, recording 19 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks in 40 minutes.

James missed a career-high 27 regular-season outings last season because of a right high ankle sprain he suffered in March, an injury that continued to hamper the 36-year-old during the team's first-round playoff defeat to the Phoenix Suns.

"The first thing I was thinking to myself was, 'Not again,'" James said following Sunday's win.

James received treatment for the ailment in the offseason, but said last week that the ankle "wasn't responding how I would like it to respond."

However, head coach Frank Vogel said James' current injury is in a different location than last season's high ankle sprain, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. Vogel added that James is questionable for Wednesday's matchup versus the winless Oklahoma City Thunder.

Through three games in his 19th NBA season, James is averaging 26 points, 6.3 boards, 5.3 assists, and 1.7 steals for the 1-2 Lakers.
