Klay participates in 1st 5-on-5 practice
Klay Thompson's long-awaited return is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said the star guard - who hasn't suited up in a game since the 2019 NBA Finals due to ACL and Achilles injuries - has begun participating in five-on-five activities.
"He played five-on-five (Monday) and then I think he's going to play five-on-five (Wednesday)," Kerr said, according to CBS' Michael Kaskey-Blomain.
Kerr is preaching patience regarding Thompson's return, adding there's much to be considered in his recovery.
"A two-year absence requires a lot of work. Not just a rehab, but the endurance, the strength, so it's great that he's playing five-on-five, but it doesn't mean he's going to be ready to step on an NBA floor next week or something."
The Warriors haven't often needed the five-time All-Star this season, jumping out to an NBA-best 12-2 record.
