They may be rivals, but Stephen Curry and LeBron James have long shared a mutual respect.

In an interview with GQ's Hanif Abdurraqib, Curry recalled that James used to watch him play at Davidson and said he still owns a jersey the Los Angeles Lakers star signed for him back then.

"I was a sophomore in college and LeBron was coming to my games!" Curry said. "I actually still have the jersey he gave me. He signed a jersey for me. I think that was November of my junior year. On my wall at my parents' house in Charlotte, it's still there. And he wrote it to me, called me the king of basketball in North Carolina. So I guess it's like the corny idols-become-rivals thing."

The No. 23 Cleveland Cavaliers jersey can be seen hanging in Curry's childhood bedroom during an episode of the 2019 Facebook documentary series "Stephen vs. The Game." James inscribed the jersey with, "To S. Curry, The Best Player in N.C."
