After getting a fresh start following a trade to the New York Knicks, Cam Reddish believes a breakout is on the way.

"I feel like I can be a star," Reddish said in his first comments since being traded by the Atlanta Hawks, according to The New York Post's Marc Berman.

He added: "That's what I'm working to be. It's pretty simple."

Although Reddish showed flashes of talent in Atlanta - he put up two 30-plus-point performances in the span of one week in December - he was inconsistent, recording 14 single-digit scoring efforts this season.

The former 10th overall pick is averaging 11.1 points per game over 118 career appearances, but he's shot just 38.5% from the field and registered a negative assist-to-turnover ratio.

"I feel it's been a roller coaster," Reddish said about his career. "I learned a lot. I'm still blessed to be in this position. It's (a) big learning experience, and I'm ready for the next step."

While Reddish's Knicks debut will be delayed due to an ankle injury, the 22-year-old is looking forward to reaching his potential.

"I think I'm here for a reason, so I'm just going to take advantage of the opportunity and have fun with it," he added.
