Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs underwent surgery last week to address a stress fracture in his right ankle, the club announced Monday.

"In assessing Jalen's right ankle at the conclusion of the season, and consulting with multiple doctors, we came to the determination to undergo this preventative measure," president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said.

Suggs is expected to make a full recovery in time for training camp.

The fifth overall pick averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in his rookie season. He struggled to score efficiently, shooting just 36.1% from the field and 21.4% from 3-point range. Suggs was also limited to 48 games because of injuries.

Orlando will once again be drafting in the lottery this summer after finishing last in the Eastern Conference with a 22-60 record.
