Report: Knicks spoke to Pistons, Kings about trading up for top-5 pick
The New York Knicks are angling for a much better position in Thursday's draft.
New York owns the 11th selection but appears to be eyeing a prospect slated to go much higher. It's not clear who the Knicks covet, but the front office recently gauged other teams' interest in former Purdue standout Jaden Ivey, Begley notes.
Several mock drafts tab Ivey as the fourth or fifth overall selection, placing him directly in the range of the Kings and Pistons.
New York reportedly discussed sending Sacramento multiple first-rounders in a potential offer for the fourth overall pick, according to Begley, but a deal hasn't materialized.
In their discussions with Detroit, Knicks forward Cam Reddish was reportedly mentioned as a possible trade piece. New York acquired the 22-year-old in a midseason swap that sent Kevin Knox to the Atlanta Hawks. Reddish played 15 games for New York before being shut down with a shoulder issue.
