Some decision-makers within the New York Knicks organization are now willing to include former No. 3 pick RJ Barrett in a deal for Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.

People in touch with the Knicks had previously believed New York was uninterested in dealing Barrett, Begley adds.

The Jazz reportedly have a strong interest in acquiring Barrett. They'd reportedly look to receive one of Obi Toppin, Quentin Grimes, or Immanuel Quickley, as well as draft picks, along with the Canadian forward.

New York recently offered five first-rounders - including two unprotected -Evan Fournier, Toppin, and additional players for Mitchell. However, the package was reportedly below Utah's asking price.

Barrett has had an up-and-down career following a stellar freshman season at Duke. Despite averaging 17.5 points per game over three NBA campaigns, including 20 last season, he's combined to shoot just 41.8% from the field and 69.7% from the free-throw line.

However, Barrett, 22, would still be a centerpiece for Utah due to his potential. The Jazz are in the midst of a rebuild after they traded Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this offseason.
