LeBron James won't play Friday against the Sacramento Kings due to a left adductor strain, the Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday, according to The Athletic's Jovan Buha.

James limped to the locker room with 5:41 remaining in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's 114-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

"I feel good, besides the injury," he said postgame, according to NBA.com's Mark Medina. James described the pain as a "little spasm" when he landed, adding that the injury isn't as bad the one suffered in his first season with the Lakers.

The Lakers have two games on Friday and Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets and then take an extended break before facing the Detroit Pistons Nov. 18.

James missed L.A.'s contest against the Utah Jazz on Monday with foot soreness, saying rest is the only way to heal the ailment. The Lakers have listed James as having pain in his left foot on the injury report since the team's second game.

The 37-year-old has suffered various lower-body injuries since joining the Lakers. Most notably, he injured his groin on Christmas Day in 2018, causing him to miss 17 games.

The veteran forward is averaging 24.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and one steal in nine contests this season. However, James' stellar play hasn't translated to wins, as L.A. owns a 2-8 record.
