Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced Tuesday that center James Wiseman is being sent to the club's G League affiliate, according to ESPN's Kendra Andrews.

Wiseman's stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors could last up to 10 days. The 21-year-old was informed of the decision Sunday, Kerr added.

"I don't look at this as a demotion," Wiseman said. "I'm just ready to go out there and hoop."

Wiseman hadn't seen the floor in three games before playing in Monday's 130-95 win over the San Antonio Spurs. He finished a minus-4 in nine minutes, registering two points, two rebounds, and two assists.

He has averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and an assist in 13.4 minutes across 11 games this season.

The contest against San Antonio marked Wiseman's 50th as a pro over three seasons. He suffered a meniscus injury 39 games into his rookie campaign, which kept him out of his second season.

"He needs reps," Kerr said. "He needs to play. It's not easy when you don't get minutes."

The Warriors sit 10th in the Western Conference with a 6-8 record. They face the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. Tipoff is slated for 10 p.m. ET.
