Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is making progress in his recovery from a sprained MCL and will begin running and on-court activities this week after the injury was evaluated Monday, the team announced Tuesday. He'll be evaluated again in two weeks.

The two-week timeline puts Durant on track to be re-evaluated Feb. 7. Brooklyn plays four more games after that date ahead of the All-Star break. There's optimism that Durant will return before the break and play in the All-Star Game, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

"I want to play," Durant said, according to The Athletic's Alex Schiffer. "I want to be a part of all these events. I missed going back to Golden State, my previous home. So, it's been three years since I did that. You see all this stuff pass you by, so I want to participate in everything."

Durant was hurt Jan. 8 in a game against the Miami Heat when Jimmy Butler landed on his knee. He's reportedly expected to miss about a month total.

The Nets superstar is averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game this season.
