Police check on Morant after IG posts, say he's 'fine'
Police checked on Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant on Wednesday morning following a series of cryptic Instagram posts, a spokesperson from the Shelby County Sherriff's Office told The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov.
Police confirmed that Morant is "fine," Vorkunov adds.
Morant expressed his love for his mother, father, and daughter before saying "bye" in a series of since-deleted Instagram stories.

However, the police spokesperson said Morant told officers at his home that he was taking a break from social media.
Neither Morant nor the Grizzlies have commented on the situation.
Morant's posts were his first since the Grizzlies suspended him from team activities May 14 after he appeared to flash a gun on a friend's Instagram Live video.
The Memphis star was previously suspended in March for eight games without pay for flashing a gun on his own Instagram Live.
Morant apologized for the incident afterward and reportedly entered a counseling program, where he said he went to "get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being."
