Arizona gets boost as Alkins withdraws from NBA draft

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Rawle Alkins gave the NBA draft some thought, but after testing the waters the soon-to-be Arizona sophomore announced Sunday that he's not quite ready to be anything but a Wildcat.

"Declaring for the NBA Draft has taught me more than I could have imagined and has been an incredible experience," Alkins wrote on Twitter. "I can't wait to help the Wildcats win a national championship next year with a great team, great coach, and the most amazing fans in the world behind us!!"

Alkins was a productive member of head coach Sean Miller's squad last season, averaging 10.9 points and 4.9 rebounds over 28 minutes in the backcourt. Alkins reunites with fellow dynamic guard Allonzo Trier to assemble what now is likely the most feared backcourt in the Pac-12.
